COLONIE – Edward J. Green 83, of Colonie , passed away on Saturday November 4, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Oneonta and has resided in Albany and Colonie most of his life. He was a WWII Navy veteran having served on the USS New Jersey. Ed was a sheet metal worker at Al Tech Steel in Watervliet for thirty years, retiring several years ago. He was an avid New York Yankee fan and a longtime supporter and volunteer at Colonie Little League. Ed's family would like to thank the dedicated doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital for the wonderful care and support.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peg) Dillon Green. Ed is survived by his five children, James (Toni) Green, John (Phyllis) Green, Virginia Green, Gertrude Green and Thomas (Cate) Green; six grandchildren, James Jr, Lillann, John Phillip, Katie, Nathaniel and Jessica Green. He is the companion of Patricia O'Keefe.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Colonie Little League, c/o Bob Wolffe, 18 Alfred Drive Albany NY 12205 in memory of Edward J. Green.
