GUILDERLAND – Edward J. Bazan, 83, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, surrounded by his loving family.
Ed was born on December 21, 1923 in Utica and was the son of the late Antoni and Katarczyna (Sluzdak) Bazan. He was a graduate of Syracuse University. Growing up, Ed helped his parents, brothers and sisters in their family bakery, Bazan Bakery located on Lincoln Ave. in Utica.
Ed was an insurance adjuster for General Adjustment Bureau in Albany for 38 years. He was a member of the ABC-NBC Club, Christ the King Church, and a former member of the Guilderland Elks. His hobbies included golf, cards, bowling, watching John Wayne movies, and barbecuing. Most importantly he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Frances E. (Sloma) Bazan; his children, Stephen P. (Mary) Bazan of Cold Brook, NY, Catherine M. (Jack) Molloy, of Albany, Barbara A. Mullen of Spring, TX and Carol A. Bazan of Albany; his nine grandchildren, Carrie, Jaime, and Katherine Bazan, Joshua and Jason Molloy, Bethanne Dalehite, Tara and Erin Mullen, and Hayli Bazan; his sister, Freda Nowak, his brother Anthony (Jane) Bazan, Jr., his sister-in-law, Eleanor Bazan all of Utica and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Mary Bazan, Sadie Zamorski, and Josephine Rosinski, and brothers, Carl and Thomas Bazan.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Christ the King Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King will gather at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.
