ALBANY – Edward J. Brooks Jr., 86, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Guilderland Center Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Edward was born in Kansas City, MO and was the son of the late Edward J. and Mosella (Flagg) Brooks. He served in the US Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After graduating from the University of Iowa, Edward moved to Albany with his wife and son in 1953. He was a programmer analyst for the Knolls Atomic Laboratory in Niskayuna for 38 years, before retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of The Cathedral of All Saints in Albany. He enjoyed working outside around the house and was an avid Jazz Listener.

Edward is the devoted father of Edward J. Brooks III of Cicero, NY and the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Barbara J. (Madlock) Brooks.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at The Cathedral of All Saints, 62 South Swan Street, Albany. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
