SCHENECTADY, NY – Edward J. Dobski, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, as his home. He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Joseph and Bogumila Dobski. Ed was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country in Germany during World War II. He worked for S.U.N.Y. Albany for many years before his retirement. Ed was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. He enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music. Ed was the beloved husband of the late Carol Dobski. He is the devoted father of Gregg Russo. Ed is the brother of Jane Blume and the late Lucy Wysomski. Also surviving is his nephew and godson, Ed Wysomski , his nephew, Richard Wysomski, his niece, Barbara Williams and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Edward J. Dobski.
