Edward J. Fishburn

ALBANY - Edward J. (Bro. Eddie) Fishburn, age 50, entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2015 while a patient at Albany Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born November 13, 1964 in Poughkeepsie. Bro. Eddie graduated from the Poughkeepsie Public School System. He worked for NYS Mental Health before becoming disabled. Bro. Eddie relocated to Albany, with his mother and brother.

His father, Clayton Fishburn, and sister, Sharon Fishburn, predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Mary A. Calloway of Poughkeepsie.

Bro. Eddie was a faithful member of Christ Church of Albany (formerly known as Christian Memorial COGIC). Eddie loved birds. He also loved food.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Priscilla Fishburn, of Albany; son, Edward Rucker of Schenectady; three grandchildren; three brothers; a sister; his paternal grandparents; aunts; uncle and extended family and friends.

Going home service will be on Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 am at Christ Church of Albany, 381 Sheridan Avenue, Albany, Pastor James Davis officiating. A calling hour from 10:00 – 11:00 am will precede the service at the church. Following interment at Graceland Cemetery, there will be a Repast in the church dining hall where family will receive callers.
