Edward P. Kirkpatrick, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Evergreen Commons. Edward was born on December 22, 1941 to the late Edward and Louise Kirkpatrick in Albany, New York. Eddie (as his friends knew him) was a history buff; especially on all things WWII. He loved scary movies and old westerns, fishing, camping, opening day at the track, a good cigar, a cold Genny, and his favorite bartender, Terriann, at McArthur's Pub. Before retiring, he was employed at Ash Trading Corporation in Menands for over 40 years, and loved a good end of day stop in at Pauly's Hotel. Almost always dressed in black as a nod to Johnny Cash; he enjoyed spending time with his extended family at McArthur's. He is survived by his three children Jennifer, Jacqueline, and Edward, three granddaughters Jaquasa Raquel (his heart), Arieonna, Magnolia and the newest member of the family his great granddaughter, Charlie. He was brother to Darwin and predeceased by sister Kathleen, and leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. His family would like to say thank you to the staff at Evergreen for their care and comfort of Eddie during his time there. A private celebration of his life will be held for family and close friends. The family encourages everyone to hug your loved ones, crack a Genny and toast to Eddie's life well-lived.
