Edward S. Kuras

Edward S. Kuras, 73, of Schenectady, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the devoted husband of Colette A. (Milewski) Kuras, with whom he shared a life rooted in faith, love, and commitment.

Born on February 27, 1952, in Schenectady, Edward was the son of the late Edward Kuras Sr. and Rega (Clarke) Kuras. A lifelong resident of the area, he was proud to serve his community through many years of dedicated work with the Schenectady County Highway Department.

Edward was a man of deep faith whose devotion to God was evident in the way he lived his life—with humility, integrity, and kindness. He was a loving husband, father, and extended family member who found joy in the simple blessings of daily life.

He is survived by his beloved wife Colette and their children, Bernard James Milewski and Bernadette Brown; Grandchildren, Alexendria, AlyssaMae, Michael, Samantha, Williams and Great-Grandchild, Antonio, as well as many nieces and nephews. Edward is also lovingly remembered by Colette’s siblings:  Katherine, Mike, Ottillia, Claude and Madeline; and by his extended family, including Mark Milewski. Edward was predeceased by Amber Lynn Salerno and Francis Milewski, brother-in-laws, Mark and Francis, and sister-in-law, Margaret.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a funeral service to begin at 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.

Edward will be remembered for his strong spirit, quiet strength, and the steady love he gave to all who knew him.
