Edward L. Shave Jr.

GUILDERLAND – Edward L. Shave Jr., 72, of Guilderland, passed away on Friday December 24, 2010 in Ft. Myers, FL after a long illness. He was born in Guilderland and is the son of the late Edward and Anne (Dvorscak) Shave Sr.
Ed was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was employed for 45 years with the Golub Corp in Schenectady. Ed enjoyed bowling, golf, horseshoes and fishing. He was a member of VFW Post 357.
Ed is the beloved husband of 49 years to Doris R. Shave. Ed is the devoted father of Michael E. (Mara) Shave, Kenneth H. (Tina) Shave and Deborah (Kevin) Maloney. He is the cherished grandfather of Cody, Jacob, Bailey, Rachael, Jessica, Kevin, Molly, Brian and Michael. He is the brother of Arthur (Becky) Shave, Andrew (Janet) Shave, Robert (Nora) Shave, Bill (Donna) Shave, Paul (Marie) Shave and the late Marilyn Shave. Ed is the nephew of Mary Krahula, Mary Jane Dvorscak and Mary K. Dvorscak. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Queenie.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Madeleine Sophie Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Saratoga National VA Cemetery.
