LOUDONVILLE – Edward Martin Lavender, 72, of Loudonville, passed away on Wednesday November 15, 2006 at St. Peters Hospital. He was born March 3, 1934 in Florida, NY , the son of the late Louis and Esther Lavender.
Ed attended Albany High School and served in the US Army from 1956 through 1958. He was employed by Albany Linoleum and Carpet Warehouse prior to a twenty five year career in sales with Montgomery Wards. Ed worked with his brother Louie in home construction for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Colonie Elks #2192.
Ed is the beloved husband of 52 years to Carol Wood Lavender. He is the devoted father of David (Luanne) Lavender and Michael Lavender. He is the cherished Papa of Kayleigh, Shannon and Shane Lavender. Ed is the brother of Louis (Rowena) Lavender and the brother in law of Charles E. Wood. He is the lifelong treasured friend of Shirley Warnken (late Robert ). Ed is also survived and loved by many cousins from the Amsterdam area, close friends and nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the kind and caring nursing staff on the 2nd and 5th floors at St. Peters Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
