Edward Michael Betz

GUILDERLAND – Mike Betz passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was born in Albany on October 7, 1958 and lived in Guilderland for most of his life. Mike was currently Sales Manager at Audio Visual Sales and Service where he worked for thirty-five years. He was an avid golfer and there was nobody that could "out fish" him. Mike was a NY Giants and NY Yankees fan. He loved playing his music loud and enjoyed making his wife dance. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband and father.


Mike is the beloved son of Frances Betz and the late Charles Betz. He is the devoted and loving husband of thirty-three years to Deborah (Waters) Betz and the cherished father of Jessica A. and Sherri A. Betz. Mike is the loving brother of Keith and Donna (Betz) Hall. Also surviving are his uncles, Red Hammond and Robert Fischer, many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was predeceased by his favorite aunts, Barbara Hammond and Edna Fischer.


Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Rotterdam United Methodist Church, 1915 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Literacy Volunteers, 1450 Western Ave., Albany, NY 12203 in memory of Mike Betz.
