Edward P. Lewis, 69, of Albany entered eternal rest on Friday February 13, 2015, with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Edward P. Lewis Sr. and Mattie Lewis ( Betts).
Eddie graduated from Albany High School in 1964 and worked for Albany Medical College as a researcher for 45 years until his retirement in 2009.
Eddie devoted his life to his family. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years Betty Lewis (Charlow). He is survived by siblings Gwendolyn and Earl Lewis both of East Greenbush, NY. Brother-in-law to Julianne Charlow of Tucson, AZ. His children, Sean (Almira) Lewis of Houston, TX, Jade (Aaron) Gibson of Schenectady, NY. Eddie had six grandchildren, Sean Michael and Monica of Houston, TX and Jordan, Jenay, Danielle and Aaron Jr. of Schenectady, NY. Eddie also had one great granddaughter Jeniyah of Albany, NY. He was predeceased by brother Billy Ray Lewis and great friend Alphonse (Bob) Polk.
Viewing hours are 11am-12pm on Monday February 23rd at Metropolitan New Testament Mission Baptist Church 105 2nd St. Albany with funeral service to follow. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens, Albany.
