On Friday, March 25th, 2022, Edward Paniccia, 71, of Schenectady, passed away after a hard battle with lymphoma, in comfort and peace with his beloved son Paul at his side.
Edward was born in Veroli, Italy to the late Sante and Lidia (Pagliaroli) then immigrated to Schenectady when he was 8 years old. Despite not knowing a word of English when he arrived, he thrived in America, graduating from Mont Pleasant High School, attending Hudson Valley Community College and becoming an electrician before opening his own business, Brother's Electric, with his brother Luigi.
Ed loved music, cooking (especially for others), gardening, and his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Lidia and Sante, and his brothers, Americo and Luigi. Ed is survived by his wife Sandie (Navaretta) Paniccia, his children, Tim Navaretta, Paul Paniccia and Sharlena (Richard) Lovy and his six beloved grandsons, James, Gavin, Jake, Jacob, Dylan and Aidan, and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place at New Comer Funeral Home at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY, on Friday April 8, 2022 from 4:00pm- 6:30pm. Memorial Service will begin at 6:30pm. Interment will take place on Saturday at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be considered in Ed's name to the Leukemia/ Lymphoma Society or St. Jude's.
