Edward Paul Krantz

Colonie- Edward Paul Krantz, 70, entered eternal life on Monday, November 06, 2006. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, he was the only child of Alice and Edward Krantz, Sr. Ed received his BA degree in History/English from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. It was there that he met and married the love of his life and wife of 48 years Nadine B. Beswick Krantz. After his marriage and birth of his child Phillip, Ed returned to Michigan where he taught history and began his graduate work. It was there that his daughters Tracy and Kristine were born. He received his Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from Pennsylvania State University. He worked for many years as a High School Guidance Counselor at Cornwall central Schools and Niskayuna High School in New York. Ed was active in Boy scouts, NYS Teachers and the American Personnel & Guidance Associations. Upon his retirement from Niskayuna High School in 1991, he and his wife fulfilled his lifelong dream to travel to every state in the Union including Hawaii and Alaska.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife Nadine Krantz; his three children, Phillip Krantz, Tracy Krantz Davis and Kristine Krantz Ruggaber, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a great-grandson yet to be born and many loving couosins residing throughout the U.S.
Ed will be remembered for his honesty, straight talk, organization skills and his love for his God and his service to Him. His family is comforted in the knowledge that Ed has touched many lives throughout his years of educational and spiritual support, guidance and counseling. Ed's family is eternally grateful to the physicians and nurses at Albany Memorial Heart Clinic whose care extended his life. He is finally at peace.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 160 Central Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 Pm at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Memorial Hospital Heart Clinic, 600 Northern Blvd., Albany, NY 12204, in memory of Edward P. Krantz.
