Loudonville – Edward A. Rucci, 92, passed away on Friday June 28th. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Catherine Rucci. Edward proudly served our country during WWII in The United States Marine Corps, completing two tours of duty in "The Pacific Theatre". He was the district sales manager with Harvey Hubbell Inc. and retired after 35 years. An avid athlete, Ed was involved with tennis, biking, skiing, and swimming. For a number of years he competed and medaled in The National Senior Olympic Games in swimming. Ed and his wife were charter members of The Idlewood Swim & Tennis Club in Colonie. He was always readily and patiently involved teaching his children, grandchildren and recently great grandchildren sportsmanship, and "always keep your eye on the ball." Edward is survived by his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mary Rucci. He is also survived by his children Christine (the late John) Sutphen, and Edward Jr. (Christine) Rucci; grandchildren Jennifer (Brian) Henry, Jeffrey (Stacy) Sutphen, Courtney (Josh) Kaur, Stephanie Rucci, and Elizabeth Rucci; great-grandchildren Paige Henry, Shea Henry, and Shayne Sutphen. Edward was predeceased by his three siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday July 9th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Calling Hours will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) Interment will be at The Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
