Edward S. Kosier

LOUDONVILLE—Edward S. Kosier, 81, died July 14, 2011 in his Loudonville home.
Edward was born March 24, 1930 in Stamford, NY, a son of the late Stephen and Helen (Oblinski) Kosier.
Ed retired from the United States Postal Service and from New York State Civil Service. Ed was also an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Stamford High School. Ed loved baseball and played minor league for the Sidney Cardinals. His favorite baseball team was the Cleveland Indians. Other hobbies Ed thoroughly enjoyed were horse racing, visiting casinos, traveling extensively through the United States, Mexico and Canada in the family motor home with his wife, Barbara and two silver poodles, Sage and Divi.
Ed was the husband of Barbara Kosier; loving father of Deborah Allen; loving step father of John (Paula) De Russo, Jeffrey De Russo, James (Kathleen) De Russo, Jay De Russo, and Barbara (Kevin) Catalano; JoAnne (Leonard) Wood, Jennifer Sciotti and Christopher Sciotti; loving grandfather of Nicholas Allen, Daniel De Russo, Jamie and Meadow De Russo, Janae, Cassandra, Jacob, Carly and Ella De Russo, Thomas and Benjamin Gabriel; sister, Frances Hoydt of Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.
Ed's family would like to thank Nina and Tina for all their support and care shown to Ed.
Services will be held Monday morning at 9 am from the New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.), then to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 2 to 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's memory to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany 12205.
