Edward Smith, Jr.

ALBANY- Edward C. Smith, Jr., 64, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Edward and Rita Hoffman Smith.
Ed worked for Operating Engineers #106 and Teamsters Local #294 for many years. He was a technology enthusiast and enjoyed working with computers.
He is the devoted husband of 32 years to Antoinette Deso Smith. Ed is the loving father of Edward C. Smith III, Mereith Provedore, Shane Smith, Antoinette C. Smith and Dennis Nopper. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). then to Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
