Albany- Edward M. Urschel, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Edward was born December 11, 1928 in Albany and was the son of the late Edward C. and Hermina B. (Fuchs) Urschel. He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Angeline R. Urschel and his son John Michael Urschel.
Before retiring Edward was a supervisor at New York Telephone Company in Albany. Following his retirement Edward devoted his time to volunteering with St. Peter's Hospital Life Line Program, the New York Telephone Pioneers and caring for his wife.
He is survived by his children, Edward J. Urschel (Susan), Susan M. Urschel, Mary Rose Bates (Robert); grandchildren, Daniel Urschel (Heidi), Jason Urschel (July), Justin Bates (Mary Grace) and Kevin Bates; and his great-grandchildren; Michael, Tess and Daniel Urschel.
He is also predeceased by his brother George Urschel.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rensselaer.
