NISKAYUNA – Edward Woodbury Crane Sr., 77, of Niskayuna, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in Boynton Beach, FL while living at his winter residence.
Edward was born on January 11, 1935 in Burlington, VT and was the son of the late Harold and Elsa (Woodbury) Crane. He was raised, educated and received his bachelor's degree in Vermont. He owned and operated HelpMates Nursing Services in Schenectady for many years before retiring; prior to that he worked at IBM for ten years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Rui, golfing, skiing and antiquing.
Edward is survived by his wife, Rui Z. Crane; his three children, Suzanne Pyle, Laura Crane and Edward "Chip" Crane Jr.; three stepchildren, Jay Falconio, Ying Min Liu and Zhe Lin Liu and 15 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
