Edward W. Towers, 86 of Longmont, formerly of Albany, New York passed away March 29, 2015 in Longmont, Colorado. He was born July 9, 1928 in Albany to William E. and Grace (Jennex) Towers.
Edward served in the United States Navy for two years. He married Jean Knauf on August 2, 1964 in Albany.
Edward was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 370, for more than sixty years. He was a member of Pine Grove Methodist Church, West Albany Rod and Gun Club and American Legion Post 1092. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean Towers and sister Jean Males.
Edward is survived by two sons; Edward W. Towers Jr. and his wife Tara, Gerard Paul Towers and his wife Wendy, a daughter Phyllis Ann Ehrmentraut and her husband Jonathan, grandchildren Emily and Holli Towers, Jessica, Sarah and Adalynn Ehrmentraut, step grandchildren James and Andrew Bearor.
Visitation 4 Pm to 7 Pm Thursday April 2, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd. Albany. Funeral service 10:30 AM Friday April 3, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie. Contributions can be made to American Legion Post 1092.
