WEINGARDEN, EDWARD J. JR.
Edward J. Weingarden, Jr., 81, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, after spending one last birthday with his loving family by his side. Edward was the son of the late Edward and Mary (McCallum) Weingarden. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth DellaRocco and his brother-in-law, Carl Wood.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of 38 years, Suzanne E. (Goewey) Weingarden, his loving children Heather (Jim) Meachem, Debbie Hart, Shawn (Keith) Stiffler, Sandi (John) Law, Tina Lechowicz and Marc (Mary) Lechowicz. He was the cherished grandfather of Jamie, Kellie (Adam), Marissa (Chris), Samantha (Michael), Vincent (Courtney), Paul (Meagan), Tiffany, Robbie, Andrew, McKenna, Kari (Chris), Kevin (Natalie), and Ian (Johanna). He is also survived by his 10 great grandchildren, Sal, Jesse, Nate, Grace, Shane, Graham, Roman, Ben, Ellie, Sophia, and the anticipated arrival of Little Eddie in June, his brother John (Sylvia) Weingarden, his sisters Shirley (Dick) Eggleston, Noreen Wood and his canine companion, Blue.
Family was important to Ed. He embraced his stepchildren as his own. He enjoyed joking with the grands around the campfire, scooter rides with the great grands, playing Santa Claus on Christmas, and going for Grandpa lunches, where he always joked about fish eyes and rice. He was an avid NY Mets and Giants fan. His hobbies included bowling, fishing trips, wood working, painting, attending the Scottish Games and listening to Oldies music.
Calling hours will be held at Bethlehem Community Church, 201 Elm Street, Delmar, NY 12054 on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Church. Internment will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery, Albany, NY.
