BALLSTON LAKE – Edwin J. Spoor, 76, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 the day before his 77th birthday, at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Ed was born on December 15, 1936 in Schenectady and was the son of the late Roswell P. and Lillian (Veeder) Spoor. He was also predeceased by his wife, Julia (Denio) Spoor; his grandson, Joey Barbagallo, and five brothers, Roswell, Donald, Leroy, Abram, and Robert.
Ed served his country proudly in the US Army from 1955 to 1962. He retired as a letter carrier with the USPS in Schenectady; prior to that he was a lithographer for the Maqua Co. in Schenectady. His family was his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was an avid NY Yankees fan.
Ed is survived by his loving daughters, Shelley S. (Joseph) Mahota, Linda C. (Lou) Knapp, and Janeen M. (Peter) Friguletto; his cherished grandchildren, Ian, Margaret, Brandon, Dillon, Hannah, Kaitlin, Kacie and Juliana; his sister, Sally Plue, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
