Voorheesville~ Edwin David Hamilton passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2021, after a long and tenacious battle with cancer. He was born in Albany on August 7, 1962, to Arthur and Betty Weyant Hamilton, the youngest of their eight children.
Ed attended the Voorheesville Schools and lived in the Town of New Scotland most of his life. He worked in the construction trades and metalwork, and excelled in interior finishing. Ed had a love of nature and wild animals, and especially loved watching and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed playing guitar with friends and participating in family jams. Ed will be remembered and admired for his very strong will to live.
Ed is survived by his mother Betty Weyant Hamilton, and his siblings: Bill (Mary) Hamilton, Jeanne (John) Eberhard, Sue (Jim) Mead, Jim (Peggy Smith) Hamilton, Karen Hamilton, Rose (Phill) Gocheski, and Nancy Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Hamilton, brothers-in-law Kyle Cooper and Ralph Smith, and sister-in-law Maryellen Tucker Hamilton.
