Edwin O'Connor

COLONIE – Edwin T. O'Connor, 62, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2006, surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Elmhurst, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin T. and Anna Spinelli O'Connor. Ed was currently the Executive Vice President for ABETTER MORTGAGE and worked in the banking and finance industry for over 40 years. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club and a social member of the Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid NY Jets and NY Mets fan. He especially enjoyed fishing with his son Ed, when visiting him in Alaska. Ed is the beloved husband of his "Frannie," Margaret F. O'Connor. He is the devoted father of Edwin O'Connor, Debra Smith, Sean Dooling, Tindara Marcklinger and Annette Kope. He is the brother of Linda Carr and the late William O'Connor and his wife, Dianne who survives. He is the loving son-in-law of Mary Pannitti. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his dear close friends, Stevie, Johnny, Bobby, Regie and Mike. Ed was a special friend to all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 10:30 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
