Edwina F. Demoulpied

September 6, 1930 — April 24, 2012

COLONIE – Edwina Fletcher deMoulpied, "Nan" of Colonie, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Brattleboro, VT she was the daughter of the late Edwin E. and Marie (Stafford) Fletcher. She was a 1950 graduate of Brattleboro Vermont High School and devoted twenty-five years to Russell Sage College in Troy. She managed the Russell Sage College Post Office and also served the college library. Noontime in downtown Troy included hikes of the "Lunch Bunch" from Sage.

Mrs. deMoulpied had interests that ran the gamut from golf to gardening. Her favorite free time enjoyments were reading, and visiting beaches in Cape Cod. She was a devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, and basked in the time she spent with them.


Edwina is the beloved wife of David K. deMoulpied. She is the devoted mother of Jeffrey (Vincenza) deMoulpied, Melinda (Walter) Budnowski and David (Stephanie) deMoulpied. Edwina is the loving sister of Dana (Patty) Fletcher, Edwin (Barbara) Fletcher, Jr., Jane (David) Whiting and the late Merrill (Suzy) Fletcher. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren: Amy (Doug) Anderson, Scott (Jeanie), Brian, Michele, Michael, Matthew, Madeleine and Abby deMoulpied and her great-grandchildren, Paige and Ethan.


Memorial services will be held at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 or the Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110 in memory of Edwina F. deMoulpied.
