Eileen A. Keppler

Clifton Park-Eileen Anne Keppler (AKA- Kep or "I") 56 of Clifton Park, NY passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with stomach cancer.
Eileen was born April 4th, 1959 in Albany, NY to the late John F. Keppler Sr. & the late Helen R. (Hurley) Keppler. She grew up on Manning Blvd. where she attended grade school at Blessed Sacrament, then Cardinal McCloskey High School. She graduated in 1978. She attended HVCC where she earned an A.A.S. Degree in Radiologic Technology and Emergency Medical Technician- Paramedic. Eileen worked for over 22 years at Empire Ambulance/DOBTAS as a Division Manager, Supervisor, ACLS, PALS & CPR Instructor. She also worked for six years as a staff X-ray technician for Capital Region Orthopedics in Albany. Eileen also worked part time as an X-ray technician for Albany Memorial Hospital & St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, NY.
Eileen was a member of the Albany Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She enjoyed many years of the Irish dancing with her sister, Ellen at the Michael Farrell School of Irish Dancing.
Eileen especially enjoyed "St. Patrick's Day." It was her favorite holiday. It was a time for her to celebrate her Irish Heritage with her family and friends. They would go to the "St. Patrick's Day Parade" and after head over to the Hibernian Hall for a Guiness or two or three. Eileen enjoyed volunteering for the Irish 2000. She looked forward to yearly events.
Eileen is survived by her brothers, John (Paula) Keppler Jr. & Thomas J. (Donna) Keppler Sr. and her sister Ellen (Steve) Keppler Brown. She was an Aunt to several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She the niece of Arlene Hurley and stepdaughter to Elizabeth Keppler. She is also survived by her beloved BFF Nicole McLetchie and a host of friends too numerous to mention.
Calling hours will be held Sunday June 14th, 2015 from 2:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, 605 Central Ave. Albany, NY 12206 at 10:30am. Interment will follow the mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rotterdam Tri-Country Baseball League, P.O. Box 192, Rotterdam Junction, NY 12150.
A special warm and heartfelt thanks to all the Albany Medical Center Staff and the AMC "STAT" Nurses along with the entire staff of the Empire Ambulance for all of their care, love and support the transporters provided. To Nicole McLetchie, words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude for all your care and support of our loved one and your best friend. You truly made a difference in Eileen's life in more ways than you know. We can't thank you enough for providing the compassionate and loving care throughout her battle with cancer. We thank you for providing her to be able to come home as she requested and to live her finals days as she wanted to.

Summary-
Where does one begin to describe the woman Eileen was. Eileen was loving, amazing, strong, kind just to say a few words and an inspiration to us all. She gave of herself and will be terribly missed and forever loved by all. Eileen was a mentor, devoted friend, selfless and professional. Eileen dedicated herself to helping others. She taught others how to better themselves and in turn are the people/medics they are today. She was big influence in many people's lives.
Eileen was a devoted friend. She made friends throughout her life and when she made a friend it was for life. Eileen's friends were an extension of her family. Whether it was a friend/friends from childhood, school friends, co-workers or a friend she made a week ago, they "all" mattered and Eileen never lost touch.
Eileen was selfless. She always put others before herself. She was there for anyone who needed her and she asked for nothing in return. Eileen would work for someone so they could spend time with their family and children. Eileen always believed children came first.
Eileen was extremely skilled and accomplished professional. She loved her work and dedicated her life to helping people through empire ambulance as an EMT/Paramedic. Dispatch to Medic 3859 Eileen Keppler Final Call, "We will take it from here."
