Eileen M. Casella

North Albany- Eileen M. Casella, 93, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018 in Gales Ferry, Connecticut. Born on February 14, 1925 in Albany, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Brady) McCarthy. She worked for New York State for over 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Casella after over 50 years of marriage. Eileen was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling locally and overnight trips with her husband. Eileen loved her family and was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Eileen was an independent woman and did things her way.
She is survived by her son William (the late Helen) Maloney; her grandchildren: William Bryan (Maria) Maloney and Deborah (Carlos) Cabrera; her great-grandchildren: Daniil, Emma, Ethan and Sacha; her sister, Marcia Evers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sisters: Mildred and Hazel.
Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Tuesday, June 26 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
