Eileen F. Coluccio, 84, affectionately known to those who loved her as Sue, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Born on January 31, 1938, in Albany, NY, daughter to the late Carl Bruni, Sr. and Rose Marlette.
Sue had a long career working for New York State. She began her career working in the Governor's Office under Hugh Carey and Mario Cuomo, and later went on to work in the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, and retired in 1996. Prior to her retirement, Sue graduated from Maria College School of Nursing, with high honors.
She found great joy in playing the piano, and delighted in teaching her grandchildren to play. Sue loved being at the ocean and spent many summers with her family at Cape Cod. As the devoted matriarch of the family, she was always there for those she loved, to support and nurture.
Sue is survived by her four children, Susan Robbiano, Cindi (Kevin) Dubner, Lori (Richard) Benevento, and Michael (Kimberly) Coluccio; ten grandchildren, Briana (Karl) Collier, Christopher Robbiano, Zachary (Alina) Robbiano, Jesse (Gabriel) Kissel, Benjamin Kissel, Erica (Matthew) Manes, Jason Hacche, Angela (Kevin) Quinn, Shayne Coluccio, Brenden Coluccio; step-grandchildren Michael and Michaela Ortale, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Deborah (Peter) Caruso; sisters-in-law Sandra Bruni and Janet Armstrong.
In addition to her parents, Sue is predeceased by brothers, James, Carl Jr., and Richard Bruni.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 9:00am – 11:00am in New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY 12205. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Albany NY 12205.
