Eileen E. Piccirilli

July 14, 1948 — May 30, 2021

Eileen E. (McKeon) Piccirilli (72) of Latham, NY unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on May 30th, 2021. Eileen was born in 1948 in Manhattan, NY to the late Francis and Ann (Wilkinson) McKeon. The oldest of six children, Eileen graduated from Moore Catholic High School on Staten Island, NY in 1966. After graduating high school, she soon met the love of her life, Patrick Piccirilli, and entered into a nearly 55 year long adventure. Eileen and Pat were married June 29, 1968 and began a life together built on mutual trust, respect, affection, many cups of tea, 10 relocations, and the establishment of a boisterous and ever-expanding family that will always reflect the love and care that they had for each other.

Eileen touched more lives than can be counted over her 72 years on this Earth, and much of that was through her work with the Carmelite Friars development office in Middletown, NY. Over the course of their moves to new communities, Eileen made long lasting friendships through her generous spirit and open heart. Her faith was a central tenet of her life, and it played a large role in how she shared joy with others, whether it was through teaching CCD classes, leading Marriage Encounter groups, or volunteering as a lecter for many years. Eileen always found fellowship within her church. Anyone who was blessed to be in her presence would tell you that their lives were enriched by knowing her. Eileen extended this generosity of spirit even after death as an organ donor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire emergency, surgical ICU, and donation teams at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for their kindness, care, and attention during Eileen's final hours. You have certainly left an imprint on our hearts.

Eileen's life was one punctuated by laughter and connection with others. Whether it was cooking a large holiday meal for her extended family, dropping off her latest round of great bargains when you least expected it, traveling to places near and far, engaging in battle over a Scrabble board, or buddying up to the dealer at a Let It Ride table in a casino, the impact of her gregarious spirit will not soon be forgotten by people from across the globe. She valued people and relationships over everything else, and we are all better for it.

Known by the nickname "Lady" to many, there is an Eileen-sized hole in the hearts of her three living children and their spouses, Pamela (Paul) Hulseapple of Ballston Lake, Sean (Alixandria) Piccirilli of Annandale, VA, and Amy (Timothy) Dawkins of Ballston Lake whose job it is now to continue her memory through laughter and love together. She has surely been reunited in Heaven with her son Patrick, Jr. who was likely excited to hear about her recent big win on a trip to Atlantic City. Deeply saddened by the loss of their Moom are her loving grandchildren, Daniel, Zachary, and Samuel Hulseapple, and Ian and Brendan Piccirilli. She is also survived by her brothers Francis (Mickey), Vincent, and Kevin McKeon, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong family friends. In addition to her parents and son, Eileen was predeceased by her sister, Maureen Burke, and brother, Terrence McKeon.

Family and friends may call from 1 to 5 PM on Sunday, June 6th at the New Comer Funeral Home, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 7 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110. A private burial will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Eileen's memory to either the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, 965 Albany Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110 or the Queensbury Elementary School PTSA, Memo: Adopt-A-Family, Queensbury Elementary School, 431 Aviation Rd, Queensbury, NY 12804.
