Eileen C. Shellenberger

COLONIE- Eileen C. Shellenberger passed away peacefully at her residence on March 11, 2017 after a long and courageous battle. She was 66.

Born in Clarksville, NY, Eileen was the daughter of Audrey and the late Earl McMillen. She was the beloved wife of Jim Shellenberger Jr. and the mother of Jim III, Terry (Margaret), Jeffrey (Jelena), and Mindy Leka, RN (J.T.). She is also survived by her grandchildren, the sunshine of her life; Nick, Mackenzie, Landon Leka, Kylee, Alexis Leka, Connor Hovey, and Desmond, her great grandson, Ryan, and her brothers and sisters; Earl (Sheila), Barbara Loveday, Roger (Nancy), Patty (Gary) VanAlstyne, Mark, and Gail (Larry) VanAlstyne. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Eileen now joins in heaven her father, and brothers; Dean and Kevin.
Eileen's entire life was spent giving to others and putting a smile on their face. She cherished her friends, neighbors, and family. She especially enjoyed her time at the Voorheesville Diner. Eileen loved her vacations in Ocean City, NJ and winters in Florida.
Eileen's family would like to say thank you to the host of the medical teams who supported Eileen during her struggle. In addition, thank you to the caregivers who came into her home with love and compassion.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Colonie Chapel, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a service to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eileen's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the Colonie Fire Company, 1631 Central Ave., Colonie, NY 12205.
