November 16, 1924 — July 31, 2018
Eileen (Hoffman) Yund, 93 of Loudonville, NY and Boston, MA, passed away peacefully July 31, 2018, at her daughter's home, where she resided since her beloved late husband, Walter C. Yund, IIpassed in 2012.
Born in Albany, NY, Eileen was the daughter of the late Adam and Lucy (Ryan) Hoffman. She was a 1941 graduate of the Watervliet High School and the The Mildred Elley School.
She brought her-can-do spirit to her active participation in her entrepreneurial family's many businesses and then to her work at the NewYork Telephone Company. During her marriage while raising five children, she assisted her husband in his commercial real estate business.
Eileen's volunteer service included many years for the Kenwood Braille Association and fundraising for the blind in the greater Albany area. She also found time to be a dedicated volunteer at the St. Pius X Library, Loudonville, NY.
Eileen is survived by three daughters, Eileen Y. Yancey of Rochester, NY, Maureen E. Yund of Boston, MA and Cheryl Y. Goodrich of Mountain View, CA and by two sons, Walter C. (Julie) Yund, III, Ballston Spa, NY, and Gary M.(Lynn) Yund, Loudonville, NY as well as by one brother, William (Bernadette) Hoffman, of Newtonville, and Sister-in-law, Claire Hoffman, in addition to seven grandchildren, Walter IV, Erin (Harmon), Melissa(Woods), Gary, Ryan Yund and Morgan and Candice (Reese) Yancey and seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter C. Yund, II, sister, Ruth H. Budlong and brothers Paul, and Robert Hoffman.
Special thanks to Eileen's "A-Team." She was grateful for your kindness, love, dedication and compassionate care which allowed her to spend over six enjoyable years at home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to: Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, New York 12208.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Colonie, NY. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Amsterdam, New York, with her beloved husband, Walter on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:00 am. There will be no calling hours. A private service to be held at a later date.
