Elaine W. Hoogkamp
July 22, 1926 — January 10, 2022
Colonie- Elaine W. Hoogkamp , 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Elaine was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Foley. Elaine was the devoted wife to the late Richard Hoogkamp. They were married 69 years.
After graduating from Roessleville High School in 1944, she became a book keeper for Amsterdam Dairy (later Kraft Cheese Company).
Elaine was a devoted member of the Community Reformed Church of Colonie.
Elaine enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved family dinners. She had a fond love of traveling to Florida every winter and visiting her dear relatives in North Carolina. Elaine enjoyed puzzles, shopping and playing bingo. She truly adored the time she got to spend with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by everyone that knew her. She truly loved everyone dearly and they loved her. She touched many lives and will always be remembered for her kindness, amazing spirit and friendship.
Elaine is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Hoogkamp; children, Richard W. (Marcia) Hoogkamp, Gail E. Lockwood, Faith H. Javers, William (Linda) Hoogkamp, Pamela Hoogkamp, and Lori A. (Karl) Cote; many many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a few great-great-grandchildren; and many family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine is predeceased by her loving son, Brian T. Hoogkamp; and son-in-laws, Bruce Javers and Bruce Malacek.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Monday January 17, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday January 18, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Elaine's name to the Community Reformed Church of Colonie, 701 Sand Creek Road, Albany, New York 12205.
