COLONIE – Thursday, February 5, 2015, Elaine M. Dragon, 65, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Ellis Hospital, and is now reunited with the love of her life, Wayne Dragon, Sr. Born in Albany on June 24, 1949, she is the daughter of the late Margaret (Foley) and George Montesano, Sr.
Elaine was a kind and generous woman. She graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1967. Elaine is a lifetime member of the Fuller Road Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. She held several positions, including President. Elaine and Wayne also ran WWD Catering out of FRFD. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Yankees and Giants. Elaine had a tremendous love of cooking that she would share with everyone. Her passions in life were driven by her love of her family and friends and her selflessness to all who needed help.
Elaine was the devoted mother of Jeffrey (Amiee) Dragon, Scott (Michelle) Dragon, Michelle (Ralph) Barone, Wayne (Karen) Dragon, Jr., and Diane (Matthew) Sypniewski; sister of Joseph (Freda) Montesano, Rosemary (Thomas) Giaquinto, Janice (the late Ray) Riccardi, Kathi (Jeffery) Montesano-Ostrander, George (Nancy) Montesano, Jr., David Montesano and the late Mary Anne Montesano; cherished grandmother of Reigha, Zachary, Tella, Kayla, Madison, Wyatt and Noah, and a host of other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
