Elaine M. Towle

COLONIE – Elaine M. Towle, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2009 at her home.
Elaine was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Carl and Leona Rose (Keefe) Becker. She graduated from Milne High School in 1941 where she had been a cheerleader.
Elaine married Wallace R. Towle on April 30, 1945; he passed away on October 6, 2008. She was an admitting clerk for over 30 years at St. Peter's Hospital before retiring. She was a past president and longtime member of the Guilderland Elks #2480 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church choir. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, ceramics and was an avid bingo player.
Elaine is survived by her children, Susan Conroy, Gary (Joyce) Towle, Sharon Warejko and Eileen (Larry) Gervais; her grandchildren, David, Timothy, Kelly, Larry, Daniel, Shannon, Alicia, Colleen, Tara, Lynda, Stephanie, Michael and Gabrielle; many great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Anita Towle.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
