GUILDERLAND- Elaine Marshall Rogers, 76, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Albany Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Elaine was born on August 29, 1938 to the late James E. and Ruth S. Marshall. She grew up in Fort Johnson, NY and graduated from SUNY Plattsburg. She taught at Shenendehowa Central School and for Head Start of Schenectady County. Elaine loved gardening and traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas C. Rogers, her sons; James C., of New Hampshire, and Mark (Holly), of Green Island, her grandchildren; Cody, Alex, and Lauren, her brother, Jerry(Doris) Marshall, two nieces, three nephews and her best friend, Janice Smith.
She is predeceased by her brother, James L. Marshall, and her grandson, Joseph C. Rogers.
Elaine's family would like to thank the staff at the Medical Imaging Deptartment, Four West of Albany Memorial Hospital, and the Infusion Center at NYOH Patroon Creek, for all their excellent care and compassion.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, from 4:00-7:00pm. A funeral service held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 10:30am. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
Donations may be made in Elaine's name to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer.
