GUILDERLAND – Eleanor E. Grover, 98, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013. Born in Albany, she lived in Delmar for most of her life. Eleanor was co-owner of C.M. Grover Stationary in Elsmere and worked for over fifteen years before retiring. Eleanor enjoyed knitting and crocheting and often donated what she made to the elderly and senior agencies. She was a past Queen and member of the Eastern Star.
Eleanor is the beloved mother of David (the late Joan) Grover of Clermont, FL and the late Harriet Daggett. She is the loving mother-in-law of Michael Daggett of Guilderland. Eleanor is the cherished grandmother of Karen (Tom) Pirigyi of Glenville, Sandy (Walter) Guiles of Niskayuna, Colleen (Steve) Kinley of Clifton Park, Debbie Grover of Davenport, FL, Joanie Grover-Strevell of Winter Garden, FL and Christy (Derick) Ransford of Canaan, NY and the adored great-grandmother of Alex, Alta, Ray, Scott, Amanda and Victoria. Also surviving is her brother, Peter (Carol) Heim and her niece, Charlotte (William) Hasslebarth.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 5148 Western Ave., Guilderland, NY 12084 or Lyon's Foundation of Albany, NY Inc., 1220 New Scotland Rd., Slingerlands, NY 12159 in memory of Eleanor E. Grover.
