Eleanor E. Heffner

ALBANY – Eleanor E. Heffner, 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Eleanor was born on June 17, 1937 in Albany and was the daughter of the late William F. and Mary A. (Stekeur) Heffner. She graduated from West Suburban College of Nursing in Oak Park, IL and Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and received her masters from SUNY Albany. She worked for South Colonie Schools at Shaker Road Elementary as a school nurse for 32 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Albany Camera Club, life member of Girl Scouts of America and a member of the Loudonville Community Church where she served as church librarian for several years. She also enjoyed being a camp counselor and a camp nurse.
Eleanor is survived by her brother, Daniel (Karen) Heffner of Wickenburg, AZ; her nephew, Robert (Erin) Heffner of Queen Creek, AZ; and her grandniece, Allie Heffner.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. At the request of Eleanor, funeral services will be private. Interment Elmwood Cemetery in Selkirk.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Loudonville Christian School, 374 Loudon Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Eleanor E. Heffner.
