ROTTERDAM – Eleanor M. Harwood Horner, 82, of Rotterdam, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2006 after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Homic. She was predeceased by her first husband, William N. Harwood in 1965, her second husband, Charles Horner in 1996 and her brother, Richard Homic and sister, Marcella (Jandreau) Georgi. Eleanor worked for Grand Union and then for Two Guys on Menands, where she met her second husband, Charles Horner. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 357. Mrs. Horner enjoyed camping and boating with her family and friends at both Lake George and Sacandaga Lake. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, knitting and crafts. Eleanor is the mother of William (Linda) Harwood of Wilton and Richard (Debra) Harwood of Rotterdam. She is the grandmother of Jeffrey (Lori) Harwood and great-grandmother of Lindsey Rose Harwood, all of Ballston Lake. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Memory's Garden.
