Schenectady- Eleanor M. Angerami (Perrino), 96, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Capital Living and Rehabilitation Centre. She was born in Schenectady on January 21, 1920 to the late Victor and Carmella Perrino.
Eleanor graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1938. She went on to work at the Wallace Company and General Electric. She was a co-owner of Jimmies Restaurant and later retired from The NYS Department of Civil Service after 25 years of service.
Eleanor enjoyed ceramics, social activities, plays, and musical events. She had a passion for playing the piano from an early age. Eleanor loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jimmie (Vincent) Angerami; her brothers, Victor and Edward Perrino; sister, Dorothy Lillian Perrino.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Jim (Mary Anne), Rick (Tina Fisher), and Tom; grandchildren, Michael (Amy), Debbie (Dave) Lafleche, Aaron, Matteo, Captain Adam; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Taylor, Christian, and Caleb; and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor's family would like to thank the staff at Capital Living and Rehabilitation Centre for compassion and care.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1255 Pleasant Street, Schenectady, NY 12303. Interment will be at Memory Gardens.
