Eleanor M. Schmidbauer

COLONIE – Eleanor M. Schmidbauer, 68, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Eleanor was born on July 20, 1941 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Peter F. and Mary Eva (Rapacki) Lajeunesse. She was a 1959 graduate of Albany High School. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She was a very active member of Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa where she enjoyed cooking and setting up for their many events.
Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, James J. Schmidbauer Sr.; her devoted children, James J. Schmidbauer Jr. and Debra M. (Mark) Battista; her cherished grandchildren, Kelly and Daniel Schmidbauer and Jacob Battista; her sister, Nancy (James) Piechowiak; her brother, Peter (Phyllis) Lajeunesse and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen A. Schmidbauer.
Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Church where a mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Church Building Fund, 250 Maxwell Road, Latham, NY 12110 in memory of Eleanor M. Schmidbauer.
