Albany – Eleanor Sidoti, 83, passed away Monday April 26, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Albany the daughter of the late Frederick and Ella Turner and was a lifelong area resident. Eleanor was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and predeceased by her husband Vincent Sidoti, Sr. in 1991. She was a home maker and mother not only to her children but to all the children of the neighborhood as well. Throughout her life she enjoyed cake decorating and loved the family pets, both cats and dogs. She also enjoyed working as a nurse's aide at Child's Hospital in Albany.
Eleanor is survived by her sons: Fred (Nancy) Sidoti and Vincent (Elisa) Sidoti, Jr., grandchildren: Tracy Ronan, Kevin Mahoney and Scott Mahoney and great-grandchildren: Tyler, Brandon and Gavin.
A colorful, casual celebration of Eleanor's life will be celebrated Friday 7:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY. A calling hour will precede the service Friday from 6:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Lovers PO Box 6426, Albany, NY 12206-0426 or a charity of one's choice.
