COLONIE, NY – Eleanor T. (Ellie) Ferraro, of Colonie, passed away on Wednesday, March 05, 2008 at her home, surrounded by family, after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Angelo Aliberti and Mary Micare Scarpitti. Ellie lived in Colonie for most of her life. She worked for C.S.E.A., and retired in 1989. Ellie was a communicant of St. Clare's Church in Colonie. She was an avid dancer and N.Y. Yankees fan and enjoyed crocheting, reading and cooking for her family. Ellie is the beloved mother of Ann Marie Ferraro, of Colonie, Frank (Patty) Ferraro of Niskayuna and Daniel (Patti-Jo) Ferraro, Sr. of Colonie. She is the devoted grandmother of Frank III, Nicole, Christina, Helena, Daniel, Jr., Brittany, Erin and Nicholas Ferraro. Ellie is the loving sister of Pasquale (May)Aliberti, Joseph Aliberti and the late Mary Rubino, Angeline Aliberti and Donald Caloro. Also surviving is Ellie's favorite aunt, Rosie Delehanty, her sister-in-law, Nancy Ferraro Dimoro as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and her devoted friends. Ellie's family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at New York Oncology & Hematology for the excellent care given to Ellie during her illness as well as Fr. Tom Konopka for the support he gave to both Ellie and her family.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to the Church of St. Clare at 9:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Eleanor T. Ferraro.
