Delanson - Elena M. Wintle, 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017 while surrounded by her loving family. Elena was the daughter of Richard and the late Lucy Dames.
Elena was an honest and caring woman. She was unique in many ways, and always brought a smile to the faces of everyone she encountered. Elena worked at Verizon for over 30 years, where she started off as a part time worker during High School and ended as a Special Representative. Upon retiring, she began working as a Teachers Assistant at South Colonie High School, where she was much loved by both students and teachers, and found much joy herself through working there. Elena was very fashionable, she enjoyed spending her spare time shopping.
Elena will be forever missed by her sons, Shane (Teisha) Wintle and Brett Wintle; grandchildren, Gavin Wintle and Noah Wintle; friend, George Micewicz; siblings, Mickey (Debbie) Dames and Richard Dames, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to The Community Hospice and their staff that assisted with great care. Words simply can't describe how much their help and support was greatly appreciated.
Calling hours will take place at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
