CLIFTON PARK – Elias "Al" Woitovich, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his home, with his family at his side. Born in Montreal, Canada on March 26, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Halayko) Woitovich. Al was a graduate of Troy High School and Albany Business College and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He lived most of his life in Troy. Al was a mechanic for the City of Troy Fire Department. He was a thirty-six year member of the Troy Elks Lodge #141, the American Legion Post #1450, the Brunswick Sportsman Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Al is survived by his wife, Agnes; his son, Alex (Ycela Collado) of Queens; his three stepchildren, William O'Donovan (Rebecca) of Lake Luzerne, Erin O'Donovan (Dave Barsh) of Schenectady and Ryan O'Donovan of Clifton Park; his three granddaughters, Brooke, Daphne and Haylee, and his three grandsons, John, Brent and Sam. Also surviving is his brother-in-law, Raymond Brown of Speigletown; his nephews, John Brown (Debbie) and Marc Brown (Leann) and their children; his father-in-law, Harold Priddle of Clifton Park; his sister-in-law, Alma Laramie (Paul) of Las Vegas, NV; his miniature schnauzer, Ella; and his lifelong friends, Jim Bodah and Bob Taft. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his sister, Sonya Brown on February 6, 2012, his mother-in-law, Ruth Priddle and his boxer, Jazzy.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at a later date.
