SCHENECTADY – Elio L. DiCarlo, 66, passed away unexpectedly on his birthday on December 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Montreal, Canada on December 9, 1956 a son of the late Albino and Emilia DiCarlo. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady.
Elio was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy. Following the military, he went to Buffalo State college in Buffalo where he earned a Bachelors' Degree. He worked for several years at St. Claire's Hospital.
He enjoyed reading and painting and most of all, spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
Besides his parents, Elio is predeceased by his brother, Lorenzo DiCarlo and his beloved German Shepherd, Nina.
He is survived by his loving and devoted sister, Concetta "Connie" DiCarlo and several cousins, Josephine, Linda and Rita.
Elios family would like to the doctors and nurses on the ICU E2 Wing at Ellis Hospital for the wonderful care given to Elio.
An hour of visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at church immediately followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1241 State Street, Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Capital District YMCA - Schenectady Branch, 433 State St, Schenectady, NY 12305 in Elio's memory. Online condolences may be expressed at www.NewComerAlbany.com
