Elizabeth A. Duclos

ALBANY-Elizabeth A. Duclos, 86, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 13, 2010 at Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Sarah and Joseph Hughes. Betty was a lifelong resident of Albany and Colonie. She worked for Sears & Roebuck for twenty five years before retiring. Betty enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She was a volunteer at the Albany County Nursing Home. Betty was predeceased by husbands, Robert W. Carroll in 1964 and Joseph J. Duclos in 1993
She is the beloved mother of Sue Ann Day of Clifton Park. She is the Step mother of Karen Bailie, Joseph Duclos and the late Dawn, Diane and Joanne. Betty is the sister of Helen Kohler and Joseph Hughes. She is the cherished grandmother of Ellen Day and Alaine Maynard. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. At the request of the family, memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Elizabeth A. Duclos.
