Elizabeth A. Van Alstyne

ALBANY, NY – Elizabeth A. Van Alstyne, 83, formerly of Ravena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Betty was employed with Merrill Lynch for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed camping, and especially loved spending time with her family. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Francis R. Van Alstyne. She is the devoted mother of William (Carol) Van Alstyne, Patricia Peck, Joan (Gary) Van Apeldoorn and Karen (John) Lucarelli. She is the loving sister of Patricia (David) Gabrielson and Jean Chrisey. Betty is the cherished grandmother of Brandy (John) O'Donnell, Richard (Kirsten) Van Apeldoorn, Amy (John) Balio, Michael (Barbara) Lucarelli, Donna (William) Marchewka, Debbie (Kenneth) Hassett, Brian (Jennifer) Lucarelli, Robert Peck, Steven Peck and Rebekah Peck. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 11:30 to 12:30 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
