Elizabeth Dawn Andrews Rice

Elizabeth “Betty” Dawn Andrews Rice, 95, wife of the late Leo Edward Rice, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Albany Medical Center.

Born on February 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lewis and Irene Veronica (Albert) Andrews.

She graduated from Chenango Forks Central Schools. Later, she went on to work as a Secretary for the Guilderland Central School District.

Betty is survived by her two children, Sandra I. DiMarzio, and Richard A. (Samantha) Rice; her grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Spiak, Marisa (Michael) DiMarzio Valletta, and Zachary Peter Rice; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Rene Spiak and Leo Michael Valletta; she is also survived by her sister Camilla Jane Schmidt; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by her son, Edward Louis Rice and her siblings Albert Andrews and Doris Perkins.

A Graveside service will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:30am. Those wishing to attend should arrive between 10:15 am - 10:30 am and meet inside the cemetery gates to join those in procession.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
