Trunko, Elizabeth "Betty"
Colonie – Elizabeth "Betty" Trunko, 84, passed peacefully, away Sunday January 3, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born in Rensselaer, NY the daughter of the late Leonard and Harriet (Seminaro) Bowers and was a lifelong resident of the capital district, having resided in Colonie for 58 years. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Clare's Church. Betty's husband, Joseph, predeceased her in 1990.
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth J. of Rotterdam, Kevin L. of Delmar and Keith W. (Barbara) of Bristow, VA., grandchildren: Kimberly of SanDiego, CA, Lauren of Boston, MA, Ryan of Colonie, Jillian of Delmar, Justin of Bristow, VA and Tyler of Bristow, VA and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Mary Hildreth and brother Leonard Bowers, Jr.
Betty's family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor of Albany Memorial Hospital for the great care, love and compassion she received over the course of her illness. They would also like to thank the Visiting Nurses who looked after her this past year, especially her regular nurse Christine Chambers. She always enjoyed the visits. A special thanks to all of her neighbors and friends who helped during her time of need.
Funeral services will be Saturday 8:15am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to St. Clare's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie.
