GUILDERLAND – Elizabeth J. (White) Bylancik, 81, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2007. She was born in Albany on August 20, 1925 and was the daughter of the late John and Effie Carkner. Bette was a lifelong Albany area resident with a summer residence on Upper Saranac Lake. She was a graduate of Colonie High School. Bette was employed at the New York State Dept. of Health for over 45 years in various accounting positions until her retirement in 1989 holding the position of principle budget analyst. Bette was a member of the Guilderland Elks, AARP, Eastern Star and H.B. Kuhn Senior Center. Her hobbies included gardening, swimming, boating, cooking, challenging word games and puzzles, playing cards, all kinds of crafts, especially knitting, crocheting and sewing. Bette's laughter, generosity and optimism touched everyone she knew. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Frederick J. White in 1994. She is survived by her husband, John Bylancik; her daughter, Sandra Day and son, Donald White; her siblings, Marion Stipe, Joan Beals and her husband, Arthur, Dorothea Farnam and her husband, Donald and John Carkner and his wife, Anne. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Robert Bylancik and his wife, Anne, John Bylancik, Jr. and his wife, Angela, Gloria Snyder and her husband, Richard and Patricia Tubiak and her husband, Donald. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 11:30 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
