Elizabeth Jean Cadwallader

Schenectady- Elizabeth "Betty Boop" Cadwallader, 92, passed away on December 10, 2023 in Schenectady. Betty was born on August 20, 1931 in Erie, PA. She was the daughter of the late Catherine and Chuck Renshaw.

She graduated from Lawrence Park High School. She was employed at General Electric for 13 years. Betty was married to her former husband, Richard "Dick" Cadwallader for 47 years.

She was active in BETA SIGMA PHI Sorority and loved skating and bowling. She moved to Albany in 1969. She worked at Kelly Girl Services in Erie, PA and Albany. Betty was employed at C.T. Male Associates for 24 years. She retired and then was employed at RPI College for 10 years. She then went on to work part time at North Colonie Elementary Schools. Betty was an active member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church since 1969. She was the first honorary associate member of the USS Albany Association of Albany taking her to many reunions in different cities and states with her brother in law, Bob Will (USN) and her sister Jean. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with them and many friends.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles (Roseanne), Reed (Norma) Renshaw and Jean (Bob) Will.

Betty is survived by her children, Richard Mark (Nancy) Cadwallader and Dawn (Mark) Girard. She was the loving grandmother to Jennifer and Mark L.R and his family. She will also be missed by the Audette family who kept her so close for so long.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepard Lutheran Church Building Fund in Loudonville.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 10am-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A ceremony will begin at 12pm at the funeral home.
